Lebanese Parliament to distribute working permits to Palestinian Refugees
The parliament ratified during its Tuesday session a draft proposal to amend article 50 from the Lebanese labor law of 1964, to grant Palestinian refugees in Lebanon with free of charge work permits.
Kataeb leader Amin Gemayel said that Tuesday’s decision regarding Palestinian rights “occurred without constraints preventing naturalization.”
Elsewhere, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon described the Lebanese parliament’s decision to grant work rights to Palestinians as a first step toward their naturalization in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the U.N. welcomed the news.
