Ginane Makki Bacho: Born in Beyrouth, Lebanon, Ginane Bacho studied Fine Arts at the Lebanese American University, and later on at the Pratt institute where she obtained her Master’s degree in Printmaking and Painting in 1987.

She has held several solo exhibitions in Lebanon, U.S.A, France & Iraq, and has participated in numerous collective shows around the world. Her work is part of many public collections, such as the Bibilotheque Nationale in France, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in the U.S, the Cabo Frio museum in Brazil, the Arab League in Washington, the Biblioteca Alexandrina in Egypt, the French Embassy in Lebanon, and the French Cultural Center inBeyrouth.

Apart from being a full-time artist and mother, she has taught Fine Arts throughout her career in Virginia, USA and at the Lebanese American University, the American University of Beyrouth, and others.

She is also known for her artist books, namely “Face to face, the artist as woman and mother” created in 1985, “The Image of the Word, The Image of the Picture” – recollection of prints – in 1985, “Ginane, diary of a woman” in 1986, “Extraordinary people” in 1998 and “Dichotomie en blanc et noir” in 2009.
