Lebanon to host Brazil’s largest trade delegation to date
In order to promote the economic exchange between Lebanon and Brazil, the Embassy of the Republic of Brazil have the honor to inform that the Brazilian Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Miguel Jorge, will be heading the largest trade commission ever to visit Lebanon on Friday April 16th 2010.
This initiative comes in the framework of business & trade relationship development between the two countries and other neighboring states. More than 75 Brazilian exporting companies will be promoting Brazilian goods & services in Lebanon & the region, while looking for fruitful partnerships and collaboration opportunities that aim at strengthening business dynamics between the latter parties. Brazil remains one of the biggest exporters worldwide and the Pan Arab region being the fourth largest importer of Brazilian goods.
In 2008, Brazil topped the Lebanese list of imported goods, it being the # 1 exporter amidst its Latin American peers with a colossal yearly export total estimated at $318.5m, representing in turn 74% of the overall imported goods from the Latin America. As for the export operations from Lebanon to Latin America, it reached some $61.8m, approximately 84% the overall exported goods to Latin America.
The one day Brazilian-Lebanese matchmaking event will be held on April 16th 2010 at Habtoor Grand Hotel-Beyrouth, according to a pre-scheduled timetable for one on one meetings between Brazilian businessmen and Lebanese companies willing to import Brazilian goods & services to Lebanon and the region. The Brazilian companies present have different backgrounds and come from various sectors such as automotive, industrial machinery and agricultural equipment, construction and decoration material, food and beverage as well as a multitude of other practices.
The biggest Brazilian trade mission to Lebanon is organized by the Agency of the development of trade and investment, Brazilian APEX, in collaboration with the Brazilian embassy in Lebanon and the IFP Group – International Fairs & Promotions.
