Sidon students represent Lebanon at the World Robot Olympics (WRO)



Three Lebanese students from the Iman High School in Sidon are to compete in the World Robot Olympics (WRO) in South Korea in the coming month of November. The Robot Programming club, which was  launched two years ago and is the first of its kind in Lebanon.

The robot club includes students from the classe de 4ème and 5ème at the Iman High School and benefits from a school laboratory equipped with the collaboration of the company Lego Mind Storms. The extracurricular program the club follows teaches students to build and program robots in line with modern and international technologies.

He voiced hope that the program would be included in the official curriculum, adding with pride that the participating students have already patented one of their inventions and are hoping to acquire a new patent soon.

The students participating in the robot program have already won an award for one of their inventions – a robot that helps the blind use the computer – at the Intel international Science Exhibition that was held two years ago in New Mexico.
