France concerned about Syria’s failure to appoint Ambassador to Lebanon

A high-level French source said that Paris has not yet received a convincing explanation from the Syrian authorities regarding the delay in appointing a Syrian ambassador to Beirut, and that it had asked Yemen President Ali Abdallah Salah to clarify the reasons for the delay.

France normalized relations with Syria several months ago, after Syria promised to establish diplomatic relations with Lebanon.
