Lebanese American Sarmad Albert Rihani governor in the SEI
Sarmad Albert Rihani was recently elected governor in the Structural Engineering Institute in the US out of 11 governors who compose this council. This body of professional governors suggests legal federal projects that are discussed and issued by the US Congress. The Professional Engineering Committee of the institute held its first annual conference, chaired by Rihani, and included professional lectures by distinguished scholars and experts coming from more than 25 states in the field of civil and structural engineering in the United States. The objective was to promote research that takes into consideration the most recent developments in the field of engineering worldwide. Rihani is a Lebanese-American who graduated with a Bachelor’s in civil engineering from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon; then received his Master’s in structural engineering from Maryland University, Maryland, College Park. He is married to Ina Lee Hand, and has three children Cedar, Paul, and Michael. He is now the CEO of BEI Structural Engineering Company in Virginia.
