Olmert looses in Israel, while Hezbollah settles its way into Lebanese government.

A Picture Worth a thousand wordsI’ll never forget the coverpage of ‘The Economist’ dated August 19, 2006, following the ’34-day war’, truly speaks louder than words.

Many Lebanese criticize the war as being exhaustively damaging to the economy; all the while, doubting Israeli policies towards Lebanon in general.

About the Hizbullah victory… Well I’ll reiterate a post I submitted in the forum header ‘Iran and Ahmadinijad’ at LebaneseLobby.com concerning the war, by stating a question to the Lebanese.

If we Lebanese don’t recognize Hizbullahs’ Victory, why does western media thinks so?

I will not project my political affiliation; I’d like to play the strict conservatist, at most, Hezbollah did not loose, but Israel certainly did not win!

Hezbollah and its charismatic leader Sayyed Nasrallah, showed patriotism, No matter what anyone says, if you come to terms with your real nature and listen well in your heart of hearts; they struggled in good faith to defend and make all Lebanese ‘proud’, all the while noting that Sayyed Nasrallah has openly declared he would ‘not have captured’ the two soldiers if he knew the repercussions that followed.

Even though I disagree with Hezbollah with its military wing taking charge, I passionately respect Sayyed Nasrallah!

Olmert fails in Israeli ReportTodays news comes with the irony of life. Israeli PM Olmert feels the need to argue his stance on the failed war with Lebanon with extraordinary low single-digit rating, while Hezbollah demands early parliamentary elections, because ‘it believes‘ it has the majorities hearts and votes of Lebanese throughout the political spectrum.

  1. What i do not realize is in fact how you are not actually much more
neatly-appreciated than you may be right now. You are very intelligent.
You understand therefore considerably in the case of this matter, produced me individually believe it from a lot of varied angles.
Its like women and men don’t seem to be interested until it is something to accomplish with
Girl gaga! Your own stuffs outstanding. At all times handle it up!

  2. 2 Ziad

The lack of recognition is not an honest appraisal but part of the post-war agenda of trying to destroy the now almost mythical strength of the resistance. An opposition that wishes to smash the feudal ruling system in Lebanon is a threat to these feudal lords’ power and more importantly their pockets. They have been fleecing the people of Lebanon for so long that they believe it is their inherent right. They have been ignoring and mistreating the Shia for so long that they are scared that the peasentry now has power.

It is to Lebanons good fortune that when the inevitable Shia rise did come, it came at the hands of people concerned about the lives and fate of their fellow countrymen. Had it come with someone more like Berri at its core, the country would be in big trouble now.
