Olmert looses in Israel, while Hezbollah settles its way into Lebanese government.
Many Lebanese criticize the war as being exhaustively damaging to the economy; all the while, doubting Israeli policies towards Lebanon in general.
About the Hizbullah victory… Well I’ll reiterate a post I submitted in the forum header ‘Iran and Ahmadinijad’ at LebaneseLobby.com concerning the war, by stating a question to the Lebanese.
If we Lebanese don’t recognize Hizbullahs’ Victory, why does western media thinks so?
I will not project my political affiliation; I’d like to play the strict conservatist, at most, Hezbollah did not loose, but Israel certainly did not win!
Hezbollah and its charismatic leader Sayyed Nasrallah, showed patriotism, No matter what anyone says, if you come to terms with your real nature and listen well in your heart of hearts; they struggled in good faith to defend and make all Lebanese ‘proud’, all the while noting that Sayyed Nasrallah has openly declared he would ‘not have captured’ the two soldiers if he knew the repercussions that followed.
Even though I disagree with Hezbollah with its military wing taking charge, I passionately respect Sayyed Nasrallah!
Todays news comes with the irony of life. Israeli PM Olmert feels the need to argue his stance on the failed war with Lebanon with extraordinary low single-digit rating, while Hezbollah demands early parliamentary elections, because ‘it believes‘ it has the majorities hearts and votes of Lebanese throughout the political spectrum.
