Israel beats Lebanon’s Hummus world Guinness record
Israel took the liberty of beating Lebanon’s Hummus Record in order to classify Hummus as an Israeli dish.
the nerve …
We have no objection that other people do hummus but they should know that it is Lebanese. They (Israelis) should find a name other than ‘hummus’ because hummus is a Lebanese name,” Fadi Abboud, Lebanon’s tourism minister said.
Fady Jreissati, the Lebanese organizer of the previous Hummus Record in which Lebanon won said “Lebanon is trying to win a battle against Israel by registering this new Guinness World Record and telling the whole world that hummus is a Lebanese product, it’s part of our traditions“.
On Friday, a newscaster on Israel’s Army Radio referred to the hummus clash as the “third Lebanon war.”
The inner circle has related stories in which Israel is claiming Falafel as an Israeli Delicatessen. Also for the activist in you, Lebanon is to sue Israel for marketing Humus as it’s own.
… and let it be clear, Israelis know, and understand our predicament: Lebanese to Israel: Hands off our Hummus.
On more a reasonable approach, I’d like to see a World’s best “tasting” Hummus. I’m not sure I can handle lightly any other Hummus than the one I know.
Update: Lebanon beats Israeli Hummus world Record, again

I WANT WHAT ABOUT ISRALI FOOD
Hummus is not a religion related food. It is a food related to a particular culture, the Arab culture. The Arab nationality is not linked a particular religion or a particular race, rather it encompass all religions and many race: There are Arab Jews, Arab Muslims and Arab Christians and Arab any religion, there are many different races in the Arab world which have mixed over the centuries in a great melting pot. The fact that Muslims are the majority in the Arab world does not mean Arab is only Muslim. Arabs existed long before Islam, Christianity and before Judaism. Arabs invented the Alphabet I am using here, long before Jews ever came to existence. Then, the 3 major religions came to exist.
Hummus is not a religious food like Matzo Ball is. No one argue that Matzo ball is in a strict sense a Jewish food. Hummus is a culture food from the heart of the ARAB world. It is a very popular dish in the Arab world and of late is found to be a very healthy dish. It has sesame paste called “Tahiti” which is an Arabic word, that is rich in anti-oxidants and poly-unsaturated oils. It has high protein content thanks to Chick-peas and rich in vitamin C due to lemon juice. It is free from saturated fat.

I do not know hebreu but I know that hummos or hummus ,it does not matter how you spell it,means chickpeas in Arabic .
And that dish is a middle eastern dish .
Now in my opinion Israel can not adopt it because it is a made up country.
Now don’t tell the jew migrant from Albania or Russia or Ukraine is familiar with hommos?
Well if you tell me that the palestine beats Lebanon’s hummus world record it is fine with me because hummus is concdered as arab food.
But Israel beat Lebanon”s hummus ………excusez-moi s’il vous plait!!!!!!!!!!
