Kiva – Team Lebanon has issued almost $7000 in Loans

Kiva, a person-to-person micro-lending community based site has raised $7000 for 235 loans for Lebanon. Most of its members are Lebanese Expatriates, and a flowering number of generous people throughout the world.

At first I was iffy about all this but I just saw someone I know in the list of members! The questions I have are do lenders have a guarantee on getting their loan money back? Is there any profit gained by the lender or is it just a socialist program for helping out entrepreneurs?
