Cellular Rates in Lebanon

The Ministry of Telecom, Gebran Bassil has finally enforced to reduce the bill of its citizens’ in one of the world’s highest cellular rates. The summary is as follows, and will be enforced starting this April:

Post Paid Cards:
– Monthly subscription: from $25 to $15 (40% drop)
– Per-Minute rate: from $0.13 to $0.11 (16% drop)

Pre-Paid Cards:
– Monthly subscription: from $45 to $25
– Per-minute rate: $0.50 to $0.36

Both companies are obliged under the new contract to raise the number of active subscribers by 400,000 each in April.

  2. Finally! It’s good to know the per-minute rate… I guess it would be cheaper now to get a fixed line if you have a decent number of calls to make.

    Any idea about the data plans in Lebanon?
